WordPress Plugin

Tonight I posted the first draft of our Quiltid plugin for WordPress.

The ZIP can be installed automatically through the Install Plugins dialog in the WordPress admin, or manually by uploading quiltid.php to your plugins directory and activating.

After activation, configure the widget with your Quiltid nickname, so it can find your links, and then add it to your sidebar.

Thanks Joel! One tip — when using the widget and not wanting to put a title to it, is there a way to avoid it still inserting this: ? Because then it shows the dotted underline I have for my widget titles even though there is no text. Thanks, and thank you for creating a plugin!

I just uploaded a new version that removes all widget title output when the title option is left blank.

The change might cause issues if a theme is depending on the presence of the HTML that wraps the widget title for CSS selectors. That’s probably not the best place for themes to hook into anyway, but it’s something I encountered. I checked your site, and it doesn’t look like it’ll be a problem for you.

Thanks for letting me know about the problem.
